Who is Burt, The Bathroom Monster?

Burt the Bathroom Monster are a series of children’s fiction books.

The stories follow the adventures of Burt and his friends as they go about their daily lives with humans that are all around them. Burt, who is a tiny, intelligent, adventurous creature, is one of a small community of similar minute yet individually different creatures, living in the dark recesses of an old family house.

Deep under the pipes of a bathroom in this house, lies a hidden world. Through water pipes and plumbing tunnels, marshes made of hair and soap you will find a little grotto where Burt lives.

Burt enjoys nothing more than living in the house and exploring it end to end, meeting new dwellers and collecting treasures. At five centimetres or so high, Burt is smaller than the average house mouse.

He has soft, brown fluffy fur and big brown eyes and he most certainly is not a hamster!

Unlike mice and rats and other vermin that humans are not particularly fond of or like, Burt does not have sharp gnawing teeth or claws. He has tiny white teeth and soft hands.

Through Burt’s adventures in the house the reader explores what is really going on under the floor boards of this family home and is involved in the curiosity, fears and achievements that Burt and the other characters introduce through their experiences.
